Our people are our most valuable asset—a fact that is reflected in our lean, flexible organization where thoughtful collaboration and meaningful relationships result in a fulfilling work environment.
Our culture is distinguished by its intellectual force, strong camaraderie, and openness to ideas. In our ongoing quest to operate an idea and human meritocracy, we highly value feedback at all levels and wholeheartedly celebrate each other’s achievements.
Our consultants thrive when they are both challenged and supported, making every engagement an opportunity to build skills, develop relationships, and deliver impactful work.
We are united by a common drive to consistently improve ourselves and our clients.
The best ideas win—always—and high-achieving individuals are raised to positions where their talents can shine.
Noteworthy successes require focused listening, structuring the right questions, and leading by example.
We have a collective bias towards action, with a collaborative vision as guidance and practical fact as support.
Without it, short-term desires manipulate long-term goals; with it, even failures can be valued for the lessons that they provide.
While developing high-quality work can be a pleasure in itself, teams work even better when pursuing an articulated goal.
Working impactfully requires the prioritization of actions to ensure reasonable time for growth and enrichment.
We help our clients accelerate growth and structure operations to support scalablity.
Our clients operate in fast-developing markets.

We are thrilled that you are interested in joining our firm and look forward to reviewing your application. In order to begin the recruiting process, we require candidates to provide a cover letter and resume. To submit your materials, please click here.
The recruitment process is designed to hire individuals who are leaders among their classmates and will in the future be startup founders, investors, government policy makers, nonprofit leaders, and chief executive officers. We carefully consider each candidates’ individual strengths and weaknesses and take the necessary time—sometimes up to two months—to select individuals who can deliver notable results for our clients and build Stonewater’s presence across the globe.
It is important to us to spend the time to learn about your unique talents, perspectives, and capabilities. In order to develop a complete picture, our recruitment process comprises of a writing and PowerPoint test followed by three interviews with Stonewater consultants and partners.
Our consultants tackle a wide variety of impactful and challenging questions on a daily basis. Thus, it is important for them to convey their thoughts in a structured, thoughtful, and polished manner across a variety of channels. This exercise tests the ability of applicants to internalize a question, develop a position, and convey it in two common formats:
MS Word: This output conveys the thoughts and concepts of the applicant in well-structured prose. This is the format used by Stonewater consultants to deliver white papers to central banks.
MS PowerPoint: This output presents the applicant’s position in a graphical and viewer-friendly slide presentation. This is the main format that Stonewater uses to discuss outputs and key initiatives with corporate leaders.
Each round of interviews includes two main components to varying degrees:
Fit questions that help us learn more about you and your background, interests, passions, and career aspirations
Case questions that test your analytical, mathematical, and critical thinking skills
Case interview practice materials are readily available, and we would recommend that you thoroughly familiarize yourself with the structure of case interviews before interviewing.
We seek to attract the best and brightest consultants from across the globe. As a result, it is often impractical for us to conduct in-person interactions with candidates. Our recruiting process is designed to be geographically flexible, and allows for assessments and interviews to be conducted via email and video conference. Detailed instructions will be provided at every step of the recruitment process.

Critical Thinking: Solving problems is fundamental to our work, so we seek individuals who can frame complex issues and develop and communicate sound, realistic solutions.

Entrepreneurial Passion: As a young firm, we particularly value individuals with a proven record of proactively and passionately adding value outside standard responsibilities.
While many of our consultants have graduated from target schools, we frequently hire exceptional applicants from non-target schools as well.
Stonewater consultants encounter a diverse range of impactful challenges on a daily basis, and we seek to attract talented individuals who come from similarly diverse backgrounds. Even if you feel that your experience is atypical, we would encourage you to apply to the position that you feel is most appropriate.
We would ask that you leave a time period of one year between applications to allow additional experiences to be reflected on your resume.
